If you've always wanted to restore a country farmhouse to its original beauty, here's your opportunity! The county says the home was built in 1902 but family members of the original family say it was built in 1895. The home has spacious rooms, a full basement and intricate details in the woodworking all nestled in 9.5 acres creating an idyllic setting for your restored turn-of the-20th-century home. The county defines the acreage as 1 acre for the homesite, 3 acres of pastureland, 4.5 acres of woodland and 1 acre of wetland. The headwaters of the West Fork of the Little River are in the wetland area of the property. Only the roof of the home is visible from the road. The home is built on a sturdy foundation of fieldstone and mortar. There are 2 porches. Originally, there was a screened-in porch above the front porch but it was removed. The 2nd floor doorway still exits and the porch could be restored. The master bedroom is on the first floor and has 2 closets.

Addendum
There are 4 more bedrooms upstairs. Every room in the home (except bathroom) has a mantle and a thimble for a wood stove but no fireplaces. All the bedrooms have a closet, which was unusual for this time period. The ceilings in every room are bead board. Several rooms in the home have chair railing with wainscot paneling above and below the chair railing. The original wiring for the home (installed after the home was completed) is still present along the ceilings and walls and is operable. The porches have detailed wooden trim giving the home some Victorian charm. The basement's walls are stone. Part of the basement flooring is wooden along with a concrete floor in the spring house and a dirt floor in the cellar. Washer/dryer hook-up is in the basement. The home was occupied until a few months ago and could be lived in while restoring it. The owner says the spring water is the best water he's ever tasted! Being sold AS-IS. Home inspections are for buyer's information only.
